I will always miss my dad and his car. I’ll never forget how we traveled around the United States to different drag strips and car shows. I’ll never forget the smell of dirty oil, tire rubber and grease while my dad was working on the car. My dad used to put me inside the Mach IV. I remember sitting in it, the way the cool metal felt; holding the steering wheel, wrapping my small hands around the brake stick, looking at the speedometer; looking around at the interior walls and ceiling. I used to dream of driving that car when I grew up!
I’ll never forget meeting some celebrities that impressed this young girl at shows: stars from “Planet of the Apes” and “Adam-12,” for instance. And I marveled at the many cars with weird designs; I remember how astonished I was to see a shower in one car!
Thank you, Dad, for some of the BEST memories I have!

Tribute to My Dad
Hello, and welcome! I am Eve Walker, the oldest daughter of Gary Weckesser, the original owner and driver of the Mach IV Mustang funny car. Gary passed away on April 2, 2016, and I’d like this to be an official page to honor and remember him and his racecar.
Actually, I wanted to design this Website for him as a surprise gift, but a very nasty and aggressive endocrine cancer took him before this page could be developed. So Dad, wherever you are, this is for you!
Many of you may want to know about the history of my dad and his car, so take your time and enjoy browsing through Gary Weckesser’s Website.
